An interesting Bollywood film has been wrapped up on Friday. What is interesting is not just the plot but also the timing around which the same is scheduled for release just before next year’s general elections.
We are talking about Anupam Kher starrer, “The Accidental Prime Minister” that officially completed the shoot last week. The movie is based on the life and times of Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Kher who has been an ardent supporter and almost a fan of the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shared a tweet in which he referred to the movie as one of his most cherished ones. The actor who is known for his versatile roles from a comedian to a villain to one of the best character artists also thanked Dr. Manmohan Singh and said that History will not misjudge you.
It is a WRAP for one of my most cherished films #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister. Thank you d cast and d crew for the most enriching times. Thank you #DrManmohanSinghJi for your journey. It has been a great learning experience. One thing is sure “History will not Misjudge you.” 🙏 pic.twitter.com/xnJM9XC78j

Kher’s comment comes as an affirmation of the phrase the then outgoing prime minister had coined for himself in 2014. Before the eve of last General Elections, Dr. Singh said,
“I honestly believe that history will be kinder to me than the contemporary media, or for that matter, the Opposition parties in Parliament. I cannot divulge all things that take place in the Cabinet system of government. I think, taking into account the circumstances, and the compulsions of a coalition polity, I have done as best as I could under the circumstances.”
Holding the film’s clapboard, Anupam announced that the last shot of the film was taken at 2.40 am on 27th October.
The actor also shared a video from the set with his co-actor Suzanne Bernert, who is essaying the role of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in the film.
On the last day shoot of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister someone shoots a off camera moment between @suzannebernert playing #MrsSoniaGandhi & I having tea & biscuits. Shares it on social media. It is already on tv now. Best option is to share it myself. So here it is. Enjoy.😊🤓👇 pic.twitter.com/HVs0YR0yxQ

The characterisation of Dr. Manmohan Singh is beyond imagination and one cannot miss the near similar tone and voice in which Anupam Kher announced the last shot.
The Accidental Prime Minister film has been conceptualised from a book written by Sanjaya Baru, who was the former media advisor to Manmohan Singh. Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Baru whereas Divya Seth Shah will be seen as Dr. Manmohan Singh’s better half Gursharan Kaur in the movie.
Anupam Kher has been seen as a hardcore BJP supporter and whose wife Kirron Kher is also a sitting Member of Parliament from Chandigarh constituency. Thus, any pro comments made by Kher for ex Prime Minister has brought him under attack for using the name of MMS as an opportunity to promote his upcoming film. He was also mocked when he had wished Dr. Manmohan Singh recently on his 86th birthday.
Respected #DrManmohanSingh!! Here is wishing you a very happy and healthy birthday. May be I will get an opportunity to have a cup of tea & a piece of cake with you if you ever watch our film. I promise, you will like my portrayal. It is full of sincerity & honesty. Regards.🙏 pic.twitter.com/1w8y8CwFi1

टकले , अपने बाप मोदी पर फिल्म बनाने की हिम्मत कर पाओगे ?
या फिर उसके लिए कमीनापन उतना इकट्ठा हुआ नहीं है शायद

You are the most dishonest actor I've seen all my life. An actor who is motivated to pick roles based on narrow political affiliations. MMS may be the most honest and most accommodative politician in the country today but he should not even let you come near himself.

It is more of a film promotion than sincere wishes 😂

Kher was also reminded that it was Dr. Manmohan Singh who was a great economist and same people who abused him were now realising his humility and grace :
That Sardar has saved this country from many finacial crisis
Silence of this Sardar was good than the louder voice of Gujju Jumla Man …Nation has started to realize it
Insult as much you can…History will be kinder to him …we are seeing it

I am from finance background and I can say that Manmohan Singh was the best PM of India for the country's economic policies point of view.

Dr. MMS's MNREGA still creates Employment for the unemployed stooges in India..A truly Visionary leader… And Modi Bhakts still earn their bread and butter by taking the name of Gandhi family..
