“A mixture of gau mutr (cow urine) and other cow products cured my cancer,” said BJP candidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency Sadhvi Pragya while she was speaking to India Today TV’s Rahul Kanwal a couple of days ago.
The 2008 Malegaon blast accused had claimed that she was diagnosed with Cancer in 2010, when she was in the custody of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). However, on undergoing a series of tests at the JJ Hospital in Mumbai then, Dr. T P Lahane the then Dean categorically mentioned :
“Pragya had ‘No Signs of any Major Ailment’.”
A senior doctor from JJ Hospital also confirmed:
“The CA 125 breast marker test to determine cancer was ‘negative’. Her MRI scan report was absolutely normal, and so was her ECG report.”
During her interview with the channel recently, Sadhvi Pragya also enlisted various health benefits of the cow and cow products. The biggest health benefit according to her is that consuming cow urine helped her cure her cancer. The BJP candidate from Bhopal, who always seeked exceptions in her case on ground of health, claims to be a breast cancer survivor.
“I was a patient of cancer and I cured myself by consuming gau mutr (cow urine) and panchgavya mixed ayurvedic herbs,” she said.

However, top Mumbai oncologists have slammed her Cancer Cure claims, condemning her remarks on demeaning science. TATA Memorial director, Rajendra Badwe and his team have called out Pragya Thakur of misleading patients.
Badwe, who is himself one of the senior most breast onco surgeons in the country said that there hasn’t been a shred of evidence to show that cow urine or other such products were remotely useful in cancer treatment. The renowned cancer specialist re-affirms that there are no such studies to prove this false claim by Thakur and radiotherapy, chemotherapy and now immunotherapy are the only accepted worldwide scientific treatments for breast cancer.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Mumbai refused to bar her from contesting the election. However, in its contradiction, the court came down heavily on NIA to give her a clean chit in the 2008 blast case.
